Some say love...She is a river
Nourished by snows and wind-swept rain
Her ebbs and tides, a lifegiver
Untamed, feral, wild pounding main
Blustering turbulent hearts aquiver
Creating, then washing out the pain
Wonderful as love’s streaming caress
O, what sublime bliss
Warmed in boiling, churning eddies adventurous
Flowing in love’s nurturing, sustaining kiss.
Some say love...is like a mansion
So fancy, so warmly comfortable, so ornate
Love spewing forth like a sparkling fountain
Adorned with sumptuous riches luxuriate.
Love bears an irresistible compulsion
Surrounded by opulence in profusion delicate
Love dedicated to final acts cohesion
The good life with prosperity will decorate
Wealth of spirit overflowing in abundant profusion
Warmth above and beyond heaven’s pearly gate.
Some say love’s a storm tempest-tossed
Wedded on the first run from the norm deviate
A generation in heady exuberance lost
Living life at a fast-paced rate
Every minute fast, loose, furiously glossed
Leaving nothing behind to debate.
Love pell-mell, chaotic, haphazardly uppermost
Life lived on the edge, the devil's advocate
As long as it makes them feel good almost
To hell the cost.
Some say love...is like a garden
Rose petals lining pathways along its way
The sun’s always half-way risen
Reposing in fragranted arms of a silvered bay
Every path scented sweet ambrosian
Pleasant as a lightly woven chambray
For the pure and porcelained chosen
Life forever in sight of a beautiful bouquet’s array
Love, the grand and beautiful illusion
Life forever cast on a midsummer’s day.
I say love...is as you find it
So treat it as rare burnished gold
Work together for mutual benefit
Give forever commitment love to hold
Sheltered from storms tempestuous
Shut out disruption’s cold
A partnership bringing warmth felicitous
Defeated, bruised, forlorn, all life’s miseries told
Love gives comforting succor from struggles arduous
Love makes plans, a rewarding life to mold.
